Sofia is a passionate outdoor enthusiast who loves spending time in nature. She currently manages a non-profit called CTS Youth Society, focused on youth environmental education and outdoor access. She was a participant in their programs in high school and has seen the direct impact that free, and supported access to outdoor experiences and environmental education can have. One of the projects she recently led at CTS, the Burns Bog Youth Stewardship Project, was the Canadian Youth Climate Action Award Winner in 2025. She’s thrilled to get to be involved as a judge for this year’s awards! She graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours degree in Environment and Business in 2023 and has been involved in environmental activism for more than a decade. She is a two-time Top 25 Environmentalist Under 25 winner for her environmental work. In her spare time, she loves snowboarding and backcountry camping.
