Applications for the 2026 awards are now closed

Prizes will be announced on April 15, 2026.

 

The Canadian Youth Climate Action Award will provide the first-place winner with a $7,500 prize and a plaque. Two $3,500 prizes will be given to runners-up, and up to eight additional $1,000 prizes will be awarded to projects worthy of an honorable mention. 

 

Prizes will be given to the program/project that best meets the following criteria:​

• Leads to concrete, impactful climate actions within communities

• Is primarily a youth-led, local, regional, or national initiative

• Involves a range of ages in its outreach and activities

• Has a positive environmental and social impact

• Has the potential to be replicated in other Canadian communities
